Biography

San Franciscan Elaine Romanelli visited New York City twice in 2006; to be filmed for her What Not to Wear episode, a fan favorite, and with Tony Kushner and Maurice Sendak’s high-profile collaboration, BRUNDIBAR, at the New Victory Theater. She liked New York so much she moved there in August.

Now you can catch her playing live in clubs in New York City, or on TV on TLC in frequent re-runs. You can also buy Season 4 on iTunes.

Read more about Elaine's life and career in her MySpace blog .

You can also hear her in a vivacious Podcast interview with Michael Rice of Cool As Hell Theatre. Go to his website, click 'take me to the podcasts', and scroll down to Podcast #9.

Songwriting
Lyrical and sincere, Elaine’s style is an amalgam of compelling storytelling and beautiful singing; Shawn Colvin meets Sarah McLachlin, with a pinch of Tina Fey for sass. You can buy a copy of her new EP, Better By Far, on the SHOP page on this site.

Three tracks from the EP -- Fly, Better By Far, and One Small Drop -- are in the jukebox on the home page. Have a listen, & then pick up your copy!

Better By Far is also available through CD Baby, and soon through iTunes. Check back for details.

Other Work
In addition to singing, Elaine has also produced, directed, acted, arranged, composed, and taught.

As a teaching artist Elaine helped develop and perform a one-person show for the San Francisco Opera Guild to bring music into under-funded grade schools.
